- Supplier management: Search for reliable suppliers, evaluate their performance, and negotiate with them to obtain the best deals and contracts
- Operations management: supervising purchase orders, issuing supply orders, and ensuring on-time delivery
- Inventory management and analysis: Anticipate market and inventory needs to avoid shortages or surpluses
- Compliance and Risk: Ensure compliance with company regulations, and manage risks associated with the supply chain
- Communicate with different departments (such as production and warehouses) to understand their needs and meet them in a timely manner
- Evaluate long-term costs and return on investment when selecting suppliers or products
- Follow market trends and prices to predict any changes that may affect the organization
