1. Planning and preparation:
- Study the facility’s activity and understand the work environment and fundamental risks
- Preparing the annual audit plan or audit plan for each task in accordance with the requirements of ISA 300 (Planning an Audit)
- Determine the scope of work, required resources, and distribute tasks to the review team
- Assessing the risks of material misstatement in accordance with ISA 315 (Identifying and Assessing Risks)
2. Implementing audit procedures:
- Review accounting records, invoices, entries, and supporting documents
- Examining the internal control system and evaluating its effectiveness in practice
- Applying compliance tests and substantive tests
- Matching bank balances, accounts receivable, inventory, fixed assets, etc
- Conduct horizontal and vertical financial analyzes to detect abnormal deviations
- Obtaining external confirmations when needed, such as: banks - customers - suppliers - lawyers
3. Reporting:
- Documenting the audit results in working papers according to the ISA 230 (Documentation) standard.
- Discussing the observations with management and clarifying their risks
- Prepare a draft report and submit it to the responsible manager for review
- Issuing the auditor’s report in accordance with the ISA 700 (Forming an Opinion) standard and the regulatory requirements in the country
4. Commitment and Compliance:
- Ensure the application of approved accounting standards (IFRS or GAAP depending on the country)
- Ensuring compliance with government regulations such as the tax system (Zakat and tax), the corporate system, and local regulatory regulations
- Submitting reports on irregular or suspicious transactions according to anti-money laundering requirements
5. Communication and follow-up:
- Continuous communication with customers or internal departments to clarify requirements
- Providing recommendations to improve internal control and accounting procedures
- Follow up on the implementation of recommendations and ensure that notes are closed
Requirements:
Saudi nationality
Bachelor of Accounting
Experience using accounting software (e.g. ERP/SAP/Oracle)
Practical experience in auditing from 1 to 5 years depending on the job level
One to two years of practical experience in local content
Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
It is preferable to have professional qualifications such as: CPA - SOCPA - ACCA
