Job Summary:
• The Senior Physical Security Technician is responsible for the installation, configuration, testing and maintenance of low voltage physical security systems, with a primary focus on CCTV systems.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Install, configure, test, and maintain low-voltage physical security systems, including camera surveillance systems, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and perimeter protection systems.
- Diagnosing system malfunctions, implementing corrective maintenance work, and ensuring the continuity of systems operation with high efficiency and reliability
- Read and interpret architectural plans, engineering drawings, and electrical connection diagrams to ensure accurate installation and systems integration
- Conduct field visits, site studies, and prepare technical assessments to update systems or implement new installations
- Adherence to safety procedures, industrial standards, and specific customer requirements
- Preparing technical documentation including reports, setup records, post-implementation (As-Built) diagrams, and maintenance records
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, consultants and clients to ensure smooth implementation of projects
- Providing technical support, guidance and direction to new or less experienced technicians
- Effectively communicate in written and spoken English to document work and deal with stakeholders
Requirements:
Diploma or Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics or any related technical discipline
At least 7 years of experience in installing, configuring and maintaining physical security and low voltage systems
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings to ensure systems are implemented in accordance with industry standards and project requirements
High ability to analyze faults and solve problems
Strong hands-on experience with camera surveillance systems, both analog and IP-based, video management systems (VMS) and associated networking components
Familiarity with access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and integrated security solutions
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering diagrams
Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems and work independently
Proficiency in spoken and written English
Professional certifications such as: (CompTIA Network+, certifications of CCTV and VMS systems manufacturers (Milestone, Genetec, Bosch, Honeywell, Axis, Avigilon)) and certifications for low voltage systems or structured cabling are preferred.
