Job summary:
- The Purchasing Manager is responsible for developing a strategic approach to the corporate procurement and material management process.
- The successful candidate will direct the procurement of goods and services for the client.
- They will develop a centralized procurement program that will add value and efficiency to the organization.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and implement purchasing and contract management instructions, policies, procedures.
• Establish processes and train staff in their adoption.
• Participate in the development of specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials.
• Review claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
• Review, evaluate, and approve specifications for issuing and awarding purchase orders.
• Plan, organize, direct, and control activities related to the procurement function.
• Develop and communicate a procurement business plan; establish, communicate and implement long-term goals for the department.
• Ensure strategic purchasing is taking place at the department by reviewing purchase requests, purchase orders, contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements.
• Provide advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to department personnel to carry out Procurement functions and procedures.
• Negotiate with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms.
• Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness.
• Collaborate with key persons to ensure clarity of specifications and expectations.
• Interview and hire staff, oversee staff training, and manage performance reviews.
• Oversee implementation of procurement of goods and services, and build relationships with contracted service providers.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Procurement Management, or equivalent (Master’s Degree is preferred) with a minimum of 7 years of related experience.
Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of procurement material management.
Experience within the managing multi companies, manufacturing sector is preferable.
Proven track record of Procurement improvements in cost, quality, and delivery.
Proficiency in both English and Arabic Language.
