The tasks of the operating employee are to manage orders, provide a carrier for customer orders, manage drivers, ensure to provide the highest standards of service quality, and preserve customers’ property and goods until they are safely delivered to their destination. Among these tasks we mention the following:
• Full knowledge of market customs and land transportation via trucks
• Contracting and negotiating with regular carriers and adding them as one of the service providers on a shipping platform
• Choosing regulated and appropriate carriers that are compatible with the Transport Authority’s regulations
• Registering carriers, uploading their documents into the system, and registering vehicles on the shipping platform’s system
• Training carrier drivers on how to work through the application and shipping platform
• Providing the appropriate driver for the customer’s request and following up with the driver from the moment he accepts the request until the goods are delivered
• The ability to negotiate with carriers regarding prices and payment period
• Follow up on carriers’ dues until they are paid
• Resolving disputes and problems that the customer or carrier may face and assuming responsibility
• Maintaining constant contact with drivers and tracking their locations via maps to ensure that the driver sets off for the correct destination at the correct time
• Assist management in writing systems that will continually improve service quality to achieve customer and carrier satisfaction
• Cooperating with colleagues in all departments and providing the necessary assistance in solving problems and meeting additional and urgent customer requests
• Providing constructive suggestions and identifying weak points that will improve the performance of the operating department
• The ability to deal with different nationalities of drivers and transporters
• Submitting periodic reports to management regarding requests and following them up
• Adherence to the instructions of management and line managers
Requirements:
At least 5 years of experience in the field of transporting goods via trucks within Saudi Arabia and fully familiar with the Saudi market
Possibility of working morning and evening shifts
The ability to make appropriate decisions, manage, solve and contain problems
Knowing the types of trucks and sizes of trucks available in the Saudi market that specialize in transporting goods
Ability to use computers and Microsoft Office programs
Work under pressure
Time management skills
He has good relationships and a keen awareness of the market
