Job description:
Responsibilities
• Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations (end-to-end)
• Ensure premises, assets and communication ways are used effectively
• Utilise logistics IT (ERP) to optimize procedures
• Coordinate logistics with various people, internal and external to the company (e.g. overseas suppliers, customs clearing agents, transport companies, truck drivers, warehouse staff, distribution centres, customers, etc. ) according to availabilities and requirements
• Communicate with suppliers, wholesalers, retailers, customers etc. to achieve profitable deals and mutual satisfaction
• Coordinate and facilitate the shipping of goods from one destination to another
• Plan and track the shipment of goods from suppliers or to customers as requirements
• Keep logs and records of warehouse stock, executed orders etc., and ensure warehouse capacity is kept at optimal levels
• Prepare accurate reports for upper management
• Arrange transportation, staff, and coordinate deliveries to meet customer demand with little to no delay
• Ensure ordered goods loads are prepared and ready for shipment
• Ensure there are no quality control problems
• Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to ensure time commitments to customers are met
• Oversee inventory of goods and vehicles
• Streamlines shipping and transportation processes
Requirements
• Proven experience as logistics coordinator
• Experience in customer service will be appreciated
• Knowledge of laws, regulations, and International Standards (ISO) requirements
• Ability to work with little supervision and track multiple processes
• Computer-savvy with a working knowledge of logistics software (ERP)
• Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• BSc/BA in business administration, supply chain management or relevant field
• Organisational skills and problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise
• Decision making ability,
• Have a good understanding of quality management principles,
• Attention to detail,
• Arabic and English language written and spoken to a high standard.
