Job Title: Operations Manager, Family Medicine Health Center

Principle Duties:
• Among other responsibilities which may be assigned from time to time by the Deputy Executive Director; the Operations Manager will be responsible for the efficient and effective functioning of: general administration, housekeeping, transportation, security, property management, property custodian, medical records, registration, patient records, business center, maintenance and supplies.
• In coordination with the Corporate Office, be responsible for accreditation system reporting and compliance.
• Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Center in the application of administration and implementation of established policies and procedures.
• To liaise with other departments as appropriate.
• Responsible for appropriate budget preparation and financial reporting for the Healthcare Center.
• Establish a control system necessary for operations at the Healthcare Center within approved budgetary allocation.
• Responsible for the appropriate delegation of duties and for establishing a formal means of accountability with those individuals given delegated duties.
• Responsible for assisting in setting direction and development of departmental programs necessary to operate the Healthcare Center.
• To ensure cost effective utilization of personnel, equipment and facilities.
• Promote high morale, job satisfaction and staff retention among employees of the Health Center.
• Participate in performance evaluation of staff.
• In coordination with the Corporate Office, periodically evaluate patient care and recommend improvements as appropriate.
• Facilitate smooth scheduling as appropriate.
• Prepare reports and attend meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as directed or assigned by the Deputy Executive Director of Family Medicine & PHC.
  • Education:
  • Degree from a recognized Health Management professional program.
  • Work Experience:
  • with a minimum of 4 years experience in a health care setting involving
  • direct patient care. Proven experience in operations management. Two years of this experience should be at senior level.
