Basic functions:
Ensure that the subcontractors are working on the construction program site
Developing and implementing short-term work programs
Ensure at all times strict adherence to Cader Construction ltd health and safety policies and guidelines, and implement site safety plan in a timely manner
Ensure that the construction works comply with the safe working method
Research proactively to reduce potential bottlenecks and ways to speed up the schedule
Find more effective ways to conduct work on site while maintaining the integrity and quality of work performed
Monitor and review programs to ensure time requirements are met and regular progress reports are provided to site and project managers
Monitor and inspect the work of subcontractors to ensure quality of work, adherence to schedules and satisfactory completion of work
Managing the correction of defects and satisfactory completion of work
Consult with subcontractors and consultants to solve everyday construction and design problems
Keep updated daily records of the site and supply of materials
Adhere to purchase requisition procedures and site guidelines
Keeping pace with the current industrial relations legislation, with a focus on issues that affect the role of the site supervisor
Supervising and coordinating the tasks and activities of construction workers and subcontractors to ensure satisfactory completion of the work
Effective communication with the project team regarding daily work activities, project milestones and adherence to schedule
When allocating work or variations to subcontractors, ensure that this work is within the contract budget
Adherence to financial procedures, including application and approval requirements
Requirements:
Strong communication and leadership skills
Knowledge of building and construction trades
Specialized skills (such as structures, steel, finishes and services)
Experience in scheduling and planning sites and teams
Experience in specifications and contract documents (i.e. scope of subcontract work)
