Summary:
- The Tender Engineer Manager plays a pivotal role in leading and managing the tendering process for construction and engineering projects, ensuring the preparation, submission, and evaluation of competitive tenders that secure profitable projects for the organization. They possess extensive expertise in tendering strategies, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation, ensuring the organization's interests are protected and maximized.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of tender engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Develop and implement tendering strategies for construction and engineering projects, aligning with organizational goals and objectives.
- Oversee the preparation of comprehensive and competitive tenders, ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and cost-efficiency principles.
- Manage the bid evaluation process, leading a team of experts to assess bids, identify strengths and weaknesses, and recommend the most advantageous bid.
- Negotiate contract terms with successful bidders, ensuring fair and equitable agreements that protect the organization's interests.
- Monitor and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to tendering success rates, bid competitiveness, and project profitability.
Implement and enforce tendering policies and procedures within the procurement department.
Stay up-to-date on changes in construction regulations, industry standards, and tendering methodologies.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of tendering processes and the organization's overall procurement strategy.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience as a Tender Engineer or a related procurement role in the construction industry
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team of tender engineers
  • Strong understanding of tendering strategies, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
