1. The GSE Lead oversees the performance of all work for both internal and external customers.
2. Experienced with repair and scheduled maintenance on a variety of ground support equipment.
3. Able to troubleshoot powered equipment and non-power equipment, inspect, estimate work, order parts.
4. Repair and return to service.
5. Proficient at utilizing wiring schematics in the troubleshooting process.
6. Prolonged periods working on vehicles and equipment.
7. Must be physically able to access vehicles and equipment either by kneeling or lying on the back.
8. Ability to use hand tools and power tools to repair ground support vehicles and equipment.
9. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to read repair manuals for various types of vehicles and equipment.
11. Excellent mechanical repair skills.
12. Ability to follow instructions.

- The GSE Lead reports to the GSE Supervisor and is responsible for assisting the GSE operation and providing guidance and experience to GSE mechanics. The GSE Lead oversees the performance of all work for both internal and external customers.
- In the Absence of the GSE Lead a GSE Mechanic may assume the responsibilities of the GSE Lead. The GSE Lead is responsible for:
1. Ensures that personnel during their shift follow the company's prescribed safety practices in the performance of their duties.
2. Assist with properly training new mechanics for their job functions and performing OJT with new staff as needed.
3. Assists with providing quality work performed by staff on their shift.
4. Works with the GSE Supervisor to meet department goals and maintain costs.
5. Prepares the setup for the next shift, coordinating work schedules and staffing for the GSE department.
6. Assists with GSE mechanics professional development and with following proper work procedures and practices.
7. Responsible for completing all associated forms and reports for GSE Services such as but not limited to billing, accidents, audits, training, service checks, and inventories.
8. Ensure the GSE shop is maintained in a neat and organized manner.
9. Liaise with customers as required; ensuring proper work performance and customer needs are met.
10. Works on GSE as needed.
11. Prepares and sends out daily turnover to appropriate departments.
12. Travel as required.
Requirements:
Academic: Graduate of high school or higher education
GSE courses or equivalent studies Or a diploma
Able to Read and Write in English
Current Valid Driver's License
Able to Pass Airport Security Background Checks
Travels for work as required
Professional / Specialty: Hydraulic Mechanic, /Powered/Non-Powered Ground Equipment Mechanic
Total Number of years: 5 Years in Skill Level (if required): 3
