• Review schedule of appointments and plan of actions
• Evaluating the patient’s condition, reviewing the patient’s plan, conducting the patient’s treatments in the hospital in accordance with the veterinarian’s orders and documenting this activity

• Learn common illnesses and alert the veterinarian when symptoms change or when concerns arise with patients in the hospital
• Use technical skills to assist the vet in outpatient care - anticipate what the vet will need on appointments and do everything in your power to prepare and assist the vet
• Manage emergency patient care and alert the veterinarian as quickly as possible
• Recognize the signs and degrees of pain and discomfort
• Understand the methods used to control pain
• Performing emergency procedures such as an external heart massage, applying temporary dressings or splints, and trimming and cleaning wounds
• Identify patients suffering from infectious diseases and follow isolation procedures
• Identify zoonotic diseases
• Restrain patients safely and humanely
